Frequently Asked Questions

Please ensure the correct MSC # is provided along with the correct address.

For more detailed information on how to label a package, please visit the Sending Mail & Packages to Students page.

Packages arriving through USPS, FedEx, and UPS are delivered to the Emory Mail Services processing facility and entered into the Emory mail tracking system.

  1. You will receive an email to your Emory email address to let you know when mail or a package has arrived.
  2. Bring your Emory Card to the respective mail center (locations on the Mail Services homepage) and tap it at the kiosk.
  3. The kiosk screen will show your available mail/packages and a mail services employee will retrieve your item(s).

Packages are first delivered to Emory Mail Services Monday-Friday. While your carrier may have sent you an e-mail stating your package has been delivered to Emory*, Mail Services is sorting and processing those packages. Package processing time may vary depending on incoming volume. However, we make every effort to have all packages processed and available for pick-up in the Mail Centers within 24 hours of receipt.

*Note – in some cases, local processing procedure will show the package is delivered during an early morning scan before the package has left the carriers facility.

To align with public health measures, we ask that all students treat these services as they would any other take-out services (pizza delivery, etc.) and arrange to meet the delivery driver outside of the building to personally accept the delivery.

Note: The mailrooms are unable to handle perishable deliveries and cannot be responsible should they be left unattended outside of our buildings at the discretion of the delivery service personnel.

Yes, if the student lives in the residence halls and the student's name and MSC# is provided.

Emory Mail Services will accept deliveries from local florists and Edible Arrangements ONLY. (Unfortunately, no other local vendors are authorized to deliver perishable goods and cannot be accepted.)

Due to the perishable nature all items must be picked up within 7 days or they will be discarded.

If you discover damage or missing contents, you should report it to the carrier or sender. Emory Mail Services can assist you if necessary, but the original shipper must handle all claims.

If packages are received in damaged condition to Emory Mail Services, we will document and photograph the damage and provide you with this information for claim purposes.
