Frequently Asked Questions

Please ensure the correct MSC # is provided along with the correct address.

For more detailed information on how to label a package, please visit the Sending Mail & Packages to Students page.

Packages arriving through USPS, FedEx, and UPS are delivered to the Emory Mail Services processing facility and entered into the Emory mail tracking system.

  1. You will receive an email to your Emory email address to let you know when mail or a package has arrived.
  2. Bring your Emory Card to the respective mail center (locations on the Mail Services homepage) and tap it at the kiosk.
  3. The kiosk screen will show your available mail/packages and a mail services employee will retrieve your item(s).

Packages are first delivered to Emory Mail Services Monday-Friday. While your carrier may have sent you an e-mail stating your package has been delivered to Emory*, Mail Services is sorting and processing those packages. Package processing time may vary depending on incoming volume. However, we make every effort to have all packages processed and available for pick-up in the Mail Centers within 24 hours of receipt.

*Note – in some cases, local processing procedure will show the package is delivered during an early morning scan before the package has left the carriers facility.

Who do I contact if I have questions about mail and package delivery?

You can email eumailhelpdesk@ricoh-usa.com and be sure to include:

  1. Student Name and MSC#
  2. Tracking number AND the order number

Package hold times vary depending on whether your package is placed in a locker or held at a Mail Services location.

Packages Assigned to a Locker

If your package is placed in a Mail Services locker, it will remain in the locker for 72 hours from the time you are notified. If the package is not picked up within 72 hours, it will be removed from the locker and returned to the mail center for pickup during regular business hours.

Packages Held at a Mail Services Location

Packages held at a Mail Services location are available for pickup for up to 30 days from the date they arrive. Mail Services will make every effort to contact recipients during this period. Packages not claimed within 30 days may be discarded and removed from the Mail Services system.

We encourage students to pick up packages as soon as possible to ensure timely receipt and to help maintain package storage capacity.

Having another person pick up a package on your behalf is strongly discouraged, particularly for packages assigned to a package locker.

If your package is being held at a Mail Services location, you must email eumailhelpdesk@ricoh-usa.com in advance and provide the name of the individual authorized to pick up the package.

The authorized individual must present:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID
  • A copy of the package notification or confirmation email

Please note that once a package has been delivered and released to an authorized individual, Emory Mail Services cannot be held responsible for lost, misplaced, or missing packages.

For the security of your mail and packages, we recommend picking up your items personally whenever possible.
